Abstract

Describes the origin of the formation and development of languge skills, important theories on the development of language, the relationship between languge and though, the role of dynamic inter-relationship between language and culture in forming the children's word and in the learning of reading. Also, explains the necessity for teaching of language skills in zone of proximal development ,the program for the improvement of reading , and the phases for learning words and a knowlege of phonological awareness.
