هدف اصلی این مقاله، تبیین گفتگومحوری در رویکرد مقاومت به تربیت انتقادی با تأکید بر دیدگاه های  ژیرو می‌باشد. برای دستیابی به این هدف، با استفاده از روش تحلیلی به بررسی آثار ژیرو و دیدگاه¬های او در خصوص تربیت، مدرسه، دانش و ایدئولوژی پرداخته شد. نتایج به دست آمده نشان داد گفتگو، محور تربیت انتقادی و زمینه‌ساز تحقق هدف رهایی بخشی است و با مفاهیم دموکراسی، تضاد و نقد ایدئولوژی پیوند عمیقی دارد. همچنین، متأثر از نگاهی است که نسبت به انسان، فرهنگ (طبقه اجتماعی و اقتصادی)، دانش، ایدئولوژی و روابط آنها با یکدیگر دارد. علاوه براین، با وجود مطلوبیت در روایت بومی از گفتگومحوری براساس مبانی نظری سند تحول بنیادین آموزش‌وپرورش ایران، تحقق آن در بافت فعلی نظام آموزشی ایران با چالش­های اساسی همراه است.
