The purpose of this research is to compare the compatibility of self-concept componets of psychotic patients, neurotics, and normal persons. According to the main hypothesis of this study, there is a significant difference between compatibility of self-concept components ( actual-self vs ideal-self) in psychotic patients, neurotics and normal persons. The population of this research are the patients who reffered to the psychiatry clinic of Golestan & Sherkat Naft's Hospital of Ahwaz, plus a group of normal persons who have never reffered to mental health specialist. The sample consists of 20 psychotic patients (9 women and 11 men), and 20 neurotics ( 9 womem and 11 men), and 20 normal ( 9 women and 11 men). The subjects of three groups were matched according to three variables sex, age and degree of education. According to the results of a one-way analysis of variance, there are significant differences among phi coefficients of three groups. The follow-up Tukey's test showed that found the compatibility of actual-self and ideal-self in psychotics is more than that in the neurotics. Fruthermore, compatibility is more than neurotics, self-concept comonents in normal persons
