Herman H. Horne is the first American idealist who prepared a textbook on the philosophy of education. However , he began his teaching career by using th Brackett translation of "Rozenkranz". One chapter from the 1927 version of his own book is included in these readings. This selection , if of value, mainly from the standpoint of the histiory of the philosophy of education; Nevertheless, the article is worthy of careful study , since it was the forerunner of the position of modern idealist.
