An Islamic Social Education Curriculum Model for Secondary Schools: A Normative Approach

Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to develop an Islamic social education curriculum model for secondary schools. Reaching to this purpose we used the normative method and deduction. Investigating the ratio of practicable usage of normative methodology concepts with current subject orientation curriculum, appeared the necessity of change in current value based orientations in social education. On the basis of research findings, subject orientation curriculum is not successful in norms of social interactions in connection with long term goals, foundations and values. Also is not able to confront the social education treats in students. Therefore we proposed the Islamic social education curriculum model for secondary schools to encounter the subject orientations inappropriate. Cognition and gain the social competence in relation to general goals achievement as inter subjective and public promotion , social and cultural identity fixation , social and cultural innovation according to Islamic and native norms are the most important needs in social education today. Social based curriculum models are the better choice to accomplish today's needs.
